Tenerife 7 day itinerary: beaches, Teide & evenings

Seven days, more than one side of the island. Use this route as a starting point: choose one main outing each day, then add a beach, a meal or an evening that fits.

Playa Las Teresitas in Tenerife

Make the route work for your holiday

This route suits independent travel with a car or selected excursions with transport. With one base, put nearby visits together; with two, plan the southern days first and the northern days together. Reverse the order if your flights make that easier.

Keep a flexible day for weather changes. Check beach access, trail conditions, pickup points and booked start times. The alternatives below are choices, not a list to complete in one day.

Playa del Duque on Tenerife’s south coastDay 1

Costa Adeje · Los Cristianos

Arrive, settle in, meet the ocean

Keep the first day close to your accommodation: a coastal walk, a beach and an easy dinner. If your arrival leaves enough time, choose a class or an evening show; check the show language before booking.

Pilot whale near the surface of the sea off TenerifeDay 2

Puerto Colón · Los Cristianos · Los Gigantes

An Atlantic day, your way

Choose a whale-watching trip from the harbour that fits your base, followed by time on the nearby coast. Prefer golden hour? Choose a sunset departure instead. For an adventure alternative, compare a guided tandem flight and its actual meeting point.

Mount Teide in the evening lightDay 3

Parque Nacional del Teide

Volcano by day, stars after dark

Make Teide the main outing. A park visit, cable-car ride and summit hike are different plans with different access requirements. If you add stargazing, confirm the transport and finish time; leave the next morning easy.

Lago Martiánez swimming pools beside the sea in Puerto de la CruzDay 4

Puerto de la Cruz · La Orotava

Northern streets and poolside colour

Explore Puerto de la Cruz and make room for Lago Martiánez if the pools are open on your date. Choose a town walk or a tasting for the rest of the day. Check the tasting location before treating it as a nearby stop.

Green forest in the Anaga massifDay 5

La Laguna · Anaga

Forest paths and a city stroll

Pick an Anaga trail suited to your group, then a walk in La Laguna if time allows. Check Tenerife ON for the specific route and current access. Do not add Benijo beach to the day while its official access closure remains in force.

Playa Las Teresitas in TenerifeDay 6

Santa Cruz · Las Teresitas / El Médano

Your choice: city and beach, or surf

From a northern base, pair Santa Cruz with Las Teresitas. From the south, choose a surf lesson around the school’s actual beach instead. These are alternative days. For a lively evening, choose a venue near your base and arrange the return.

Los Gigantes cliffs and the Atlantic OceanDay 7

TFS / TFN

One last dip, with time to get home

Keep departure day near your base and leave room for checkout and the airport journey. A water-park day is an alternative for a full free day, not something to squeeze in before a flight. Confirm whether your flight uses TFS or TFN.

Planning a week: your questions

Is seven days enough for Tenerife?

Seven days allow a varied first visit if you choose priorities. Combine a few coastal days with Teide and one northern outing, rather than trying to visit every beach and town.

Can I follow this itinerary without hiring a car?

Yes, with adjustments: choose a walkable base, check TITSA services for each journey and use excursions with confirmed pickup for remote outings. Do not assume every trail or late evening has a convenient bus return.

Make this week yours

Open the planner with your own dates. Read an experience, add it if it fits and assign the day there. Your existing holiday stays saved; this guide does not replace it.
